FTL was absolutely an inspiration! We were pushed for time, as this was a game jam project - had a bunch more interconnected events planned which we weren't able to include, which would also have made difficulty levels a bit more consistent across playthroughs.
You've got one hard and one easy comment, so I'll go with "just right." It took me four tries, but only because I kept trying the same basic path over and over.
